Mike Dreitzer Appointed as Chairman of Nevada Gaming Control Board
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo made an announcement on Monday regarding the appointment of Mike Dreitzer as the next Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB). Dreitzer will be taking over the position from Chairman Kirk Hendrick, who had previously revealed his intention to step down following the 2025 Legislative Session.
Expressing his gratitude towards Chairman Hendrick, Governor Lombardo stated, “I’m exceptionally thankful for Chairman Hendrick’s dedication and service to our state. Under his guidance, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has made significant advancements in gaming modernization and innovation by removing bureaucratic obstacles.”
Mike Dreitzer: A Gaming Industry Veteran
With an extensive background in gaming compliance and decades of industry experience, Mike Dreitzer is set to lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board with integrity and excellence. Dreitzer most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Gaming Arts, LLC, a prominent gaming equipment supplier with over 150 gaming licenses.
Prior to his role at Gaming Arts, Dreitzer held various leadership positions, including President of the North America Division for Ainsworth Game Technology, Inc., Chief Operating Officer of BMM Americas, a global gaming test lab and consultancy, and Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of G3, a gaming content company.
In addition, Dreitzer also served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Nevada Office of the Attorney General, providing legal representation for the Nevada Gaming Commission and the Nevada Gaming Control Board. He holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a law degree from Emory University.
Smooth Transition Expected
Chairman Kirk Hendrick, whose resignation will be effective on June 22, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board. He mentioned that working with fellow Board members and dedicated employees has been a fulfilling experience in his public service career.
Hendrick assured a smooth transition to incoming Chairman Mike Dreitzer, highlighting their longstanding relationship dating back to their days in the Attorney General’s Office. He expressed confidence in Dreitzer’s capabilities, citing his extensive background in gaming law, government, regulatory compliance, and business.
With Dreitzer’s anticipated start date on June 23, Governor Lombardo commended the appointment, stating his confidence in Dreitzer’s ability to further the essential mission of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and uphold the highest standards of gaming regulation for the state.
